Frequently Asked Questions
What is a health score?
A health score is a composite number from
• Infrastructure signals — HTTP uptime, SSL certificate validity, DNS resolution
• Activity signals — job postings, changelog/release frequency, GitHub commits
• Web presence — docs, status page, community forums
Scores are color-coded: 70–100 healthy, 40–69 watch closely, 0–39 high risk. A vendor can be technically "up" but score low — that's the point. We catch slow decline, not just outages.

How often do you scan vendors?
Basic health checks (HTTP, SSL, DNS) run daily for all monitored vendors.
Deep signal scans (job postings, changelog activity, GitHub, web presence) run on demand — click Deep Scan in your dashboard to trigger a fresh scan. Deep scans are more resource-intensive so they're not fully automated yet.
You can always trigger a manual scan for any vendor directly from the dashboard.

• Free — No alerts. Check your dashboard manually.

• Team ($149/mo) — Email alerts + Slack notifications + webhook delivery to any endpoint.
You can configure alert thresholds (e.g., "notify me if score drops below 50") from your account settings on paid plans.

Can I monitor internal or private tools?
Yes — on Pro and Team plans. The Custom Vendor feature lets you add any publicly-accessible domain to your watchlist, including internal staging tools, homegrown platforms, or niche vendors not in our database.
We require that the domain respond to HTTP (not behind a VPN or firewall) for basic health checks. Deep signal scans work best for publicly-indexed tools with visible GitHub repos or changelogs.
